If you’ve never been to Turks & Caicos, let me just say — it’s one of those places that actually lives up to the hype. The water? Unreal. It’s that perfect turquoise you see in travel ads and think is probably filtered… but it’s not. It’s just that beautiful.
We stayed on Grace Bay, and every morning felt like waking up inside a screensaver. Powdery white sand, calm clear water, and the beach never felt crowded. The vibe is laid-back and peaceful — no loud party scene, just pure relaxation. You can easily walk from the beach to cute little restaurants and cafés where the food is fresh and the cocktails are strong.
One of the highlights was snorkeling off the coast. We took a half-day boat trip, and the water was so clear, you could see vibrant coral and fish right from the boat. There’s this amazing spot called Iguana Island — yes, literally an island filled with iguanas — and it’s super cool (and slightly hilarious) to visit.
And if you ever go, do not miss the weekly Friday night Fish Fry in Providenciales. It’s such a great scene — locals and tourists all come together for food, music, and dancing. Food stalls serve up fried fish, conch fritters, jerk chicken, and grilled lobster. There’s live music, local crafts, and everyone’s just hanging out under the stars, enjoying good food and island vibes. It felt like the heart of the community, and we ended up staying way longer than planned, dancing barefoot and chatting with people from all over.
Food-wise in general, conch is everywhere — grilled, fried, in salads — and it’s delicious. The seafood overall is ridiculously fresh. We had this one dinner right on the beach with grilled lobster and rum punch that I still think about.
What I loved most, though, was the slow pace. No rush, no stress, just sunshine, friendly locals, and the kind of peace that makes you not want to check your phone. It’s the perfect place if you need a reset.
The only con is that it's EXPENSIVE....unleaded gas @ $7/gallon expensive, but worth every penny!!
